Discover Woodlark and Pipit:
Design for rooms that reflect individual creative authorship.
Because we believe spaces, like landscapes, carry meaningful stories that unfold with care. After all, home is not just something you decorate—it’s a sanctuary where your life is quietly inscribed.

Attending to the stories held within a home requires time, listening, and discernment — forms of attention that cultivate specificity rather than sameness. In this way, attention has become a quiet luxury.

At Woodlark & Pipit, our role is to translate between person and place. Through interpretive design, we help spaces reflect the lives unfolding within them, rather than the ideas circulating around them. Each project begins with listening and ends with a room that feels settled, meaningful, and unmistakably yours.
What We Offer
There’s a wide gap between hiring a full design firm and doing everything yourself. Sometimes its wildly empowering to learn a new skill or wield power tools in ways that once felt intimidating. And other times? Maybe bandwidth or technical knowledge requires an extra set of hands.

Woodlark & Pipit exists in that space between doing everything yourself and the expense of hiring someone else to do it all. What we offer is structured authorship. We're thinking partners to help you clarify the changes needed:

-
To lessen the exhaust of trial and error involved with doing everything yourself.
-
Before making serious investment in someone else to execute.

We offer two paths to support this outcome: self-directed design guides where you can move at your own pace or 1:1 consultation on room composition.

The result is a clear sense of what to keep, what to edit, and what to introduce slowly—so a room can better support your life, feeling authored rather than imitated.

Design Philosophy
I think of home as story carved into matter, a living record that says I was here and this is what matters.
I also value agency in the design process. A personal creative voice does not come from copying someone else's conclusions but from noticing how home is narrative in your own life and how it can be a deeply personal reflection of who you are.
I believe beauty can steady a life. A single lovely thing, whether bird song, a well-worn chair catching the afternoon light, or a single line of poetry, has the power to quietly alter the atmosphere around it.

This sensibility informs how I interpret spaces, but never dictates what they must become. Each client’s visual language is their own. We're here to help you give form to it.
About Me

I’m Ashley — the Creative Director of Woodlark & Pipit. I believe home is both structure and story. The visible architecture matters and so does the invisible one.

I’m drawn to understated beauty, natural materials, and spaces that feel lived in rather than staged. Around here, we design for the people (and also dogs) who actually live in the house.
My perspective is shaped by years of studying design and business in the Pacific Northwest, along with renovating multiple homes and learning firsthand how spaces are edited, not simply styled. If this way of thinking about home resonates, I'd be honored to help shape it with you.

And also? I won’t pretend I’m above the occasional songbird metaphor ... some images endure for good reason.
