Mid-Century Modern in Portland, OR
Mid-century homes are defined by a kind of quiet openness. The designs from that era typically prioritize flow, light, and restraint, allowing the architecture to do the work instead of decoration. These designs suggest a conversation with the outdoors through their inclusion of large windows and sliders that blur the boundary between inside and outside.
These beautiful aspects were muted in the former design, color palette and crowded layout. We performed an entire home update from exterior paint, landscaping, re-roofing, and updating the colors, textiles and furnishings of the home. On this project, we worked with what was already there and through the process of subtraction uncovered the home's hidden beauty. Click here for the full gallery.

Colonial Ranch in Charlotte, NC
What began as a quiet Southeast Charlotte backyard — little more than lawn and a few mature trees — is now a layered outdoor living space designed for gathering.
We added a generous wood deck to ground the space, a screened gazebo for shaded evenings, and a bamboo-screened hot tub area for privacy without heaviness. Built-in U-shaped seating anchors conversation, while a fire table extends use well beyond summer. The result is an outdoor room that feels structured, warm, and made for real entertaining.
